Daniel Faasse, 62


Mansfield, MA


Daniel Faasse, age 62, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully, with his beloved wife Susan M. (Mitchell) Faasse by his side on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.


Dan and Susan were lovingly married for the past thirty-three years and are the devoted parents of Peter Faasse of Portland, Oregon, Lucas Faasse of Mansfield, and Martha Faasse of Mansfield and Los Angeles.


Born in Wyoming, Michigan on May 18, 1961, he was a loving son of the late Marcus and Louise (Jeltema) Faasse.


Dan grew up in the Grand Rapids area in Michigan. He was a 1979 graduate of Calvin Christian High School. Dan continued his education, first graduating from Calvin College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, and then from Quinnipiac College with a Masters Degree in Health Science.


Dan's career as an ASCP certified Pathologists’ Assistant provided him with many opportunities in the pathology healthcare field. He was most currently employed at mTuitive in Centerville, serving as a Product Manager for Anatomic Pathology Software. He began his PA career in Kansas City, Missouri and then at a few different hospital laboratories in Southern New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Dan and his family then relocated to Massachusetts, and he served as the Anatomic Pathology Manager at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston for eleven years. He then went on to work as a Pathology Specialist at Agendia, a molecular diagnostics company, for seven years. Dan was a respected mentor and leader amongst his many colleagues.


He was a parishioner of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield and actively volunteered at Saint Mary’s Catholic School. He was a fellow member of the American Association of Pathologists’ Assistants and a member of the American Society of Clinical Pathology.

Dan especially loved spending time with his adoring family, including fun family vacations, especially ski trips and beach vacations. He was a home improvements and gardening enthusiast. Dan also enjoyed all outdoor activities and sharing his passion for cars with friends and family. Dan will always be remembered as a lover of all things culinary.


In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by Marc and Nancy Faasse, Tom and Kris Faasse, Jan and Tom Hoffer, Susan and Paul Bogardus, and Jim Faasse; Judy Mitchell and Bethany Buck, Diane and Patrick Brannon, and Paul Mitchell; as well as 17 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister-in-law Shannon Faasse and two nephews.


Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, September 8th from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.


His Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 9th at 11:00 am in Saint Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt Street (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will be at a later date at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.
