CHICOPEE – Christopher-Paul “Chris” Trigilio, 53, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. He passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family after a courageous battle with kidney disease. He was born in Springfield on May 4, 1970, a beloved son of Paul M. Trigilio of Ludlow and the late Dorothy T. (Diminutto) Trigilio. He was raised in the Sixteen Acres section of Springfield, graduated from Cathedral High School and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from UMASS Lowell. He was a Probation Officer for over 18 years at the Springfield District Court and was previously employed at Callaway Golf in Chicopee. Chris was an avid sports fan who loved cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers and enjoyed playing Dungeons and Dragons and Magic the Gathering. Most of all, he was a family man who truly loved his wife and children, watching his son Bobby play hockey and baseball and coaching Emily and Bobby for baseball, basketball, and softball. He leaves his beloved wife and best friend, Penelope "Penny" (George) Trigilio after many happy years of marriage. In addition to his wife and father, he leaves his two loving children, Emily V. Ayers and her husband, Michael, and Robert C. “Bobby” Trigilio, all of Chicopee; his dear brother, John-Paul Trigilio of Ludlow; his dear sister, Debra E. Hawkins of Ludlow; his dear father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Candace George of Chicopee; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members, and numerous friends. His funeral will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107, (funeral home will open at 9:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 395 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA 01104. His burial will be private.
