MaryLou (Itrato) Costante, of Somerville, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, August 30th. She was 77. Born in Boston and raised in the North End, MaryLou was the cherished daughter of the late Louis and Mary (DeFalco) Itrato.
MaryLou was a wonderful wife, mother and Nina. She had a caring disposition and a heart full of love. She was the foundation of the family. She was the one that held everyone and everything together.
When MaryLou was not spending time with her family, she was in her kitchen cooking. Her dishes were made from scratch and were known to be delicious. She enjoyed playing Bingo and carried her trusty bingo dauber to each game. She was loved by everyone and will be missed by all.
MaryLou was the beloved wife of the late Salvatore “Smokey” Costante. She was the devoted mother of Joanna Callinan and her husband Stephen, and AnnMarie Costante. She was the loving Nina of Patrick Callinan and Nicole Callinan and her fiancé Brandon Milliken. She was the great Nina of Josephine Milliken. She was the dear sister of Diane Dyko, Roseann Mahar and the late Louis Itrato. MaryLou was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
MaryLou’s funeral will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Wednesday, September 6th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, September 5th from 4 through 8 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery. Malden.
