Isobel M. Boynton (Ward) age 84, of Taunton, passed away on August 23, 2023, at Morton Hospital in Taunton. She was the wife of the late Richard C. Boynton, Sr.
Born in Boston, and raised in Randolph, she was the daughter of the late Perley P. and Marguerite (Stewart) Ward.
She resided in Brockton most of her life and graduated from Randolph High school. Isobel was a stay-at-home mother who was extremely devoted to her family. After her last daughter was in kindergarten, she worked as a switch board operator for Aetna Insurance in Brockton, retiring in 1991. A loving, caring, and giving person, she had a great sense of humor and a profound love for her children and grandchildren. She was active with the Boy Scouts and was a “den mother”, loved listening to audio books and classic country, knitting, crocheting, bingo, ceramics, and travelling.
She is survived by her loving children, Barbara Ann Golbranson and her husband John III of Wareham, Richard Carl Boynton, Jr. and his late wife Linda of Brockton, Susan Simanski and her partner Robert of Taunton, and Amy Gauthier and her husband John Sr. of Taunton; siblings, William Ward of Brockton and Lynda Nakamoto of Kenner, LA; her “baseball team of nine”, John Golbranson IV, Jason Golbranson, Myron Simanski, John Gauthier, Jr. James Simanski, Joseph Gauthier, Christopher Kolesinski and the late Steven Simanski and Joshua Golbranson; bonus grandchildren, Danny Staples and Ashley Cahill; and six great grandchildren, John Golbranson V, Myron C. Simanksi, Callie Golbranson, Jaelyn Golbranson, Joshua Golbranson, and George Simanski. Isobel was the sister of the late Shirley Adams and David Ward.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton. The funeral procession will gather on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 9:30 am, for a funeral service beginning at 10:00 am, in the funeral home. Interment will be in Knollwood Memorial Park, in Canton.
