Ann Marie Stewart-Rodriguez, 64, of George Washington Highway, Smithfield, died Saturday, August 27, 2023 at home. She was the wife of Jose Rodriguez. They had been married for 25 years.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd F. Hopkins and the late Lorraine (Nerbonne) Hopkins, the founders of Lloyds diner in Johnston, RI.
Besides her husband, Jose, she is survived by her children: Stephanie Gaudreau of Scituate, Elise Lovelace of Providence, Fred Stewart and his wife Rachel Stewart of Kansas City, her grandson Rey Louis Lovelace and her beloved dog Ariel.
She is also survived by her siblings: Jean Arcand and her husband Gary of Connecticut, Adele Durocher of Florida, Michael Riley and his wife Joy of Scituate, Patti Gallagher of Chepachet and Bette Hopkins-Senecal and her husband Sam of Scituate tand many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Beverly Cline and the father of her children,Fred Stewart.
Ann was a Bartender at Thompson Speedway for many years and also Teacher’s Assistant at Webster Junior High in Webster, MA. Ann loved her children and playing scrabble with her husband and playing with her dogs Ariel and the late AJ who is keeping her company for us. She was smart, funny and one of a kind! She was loved by so many and will never be forgotten.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, September 6th from 4-6pm in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Committal service will be Thursday, September 7th at 10 am at Philips Memorial Cemetery in Foster, RI.
