Patrick J. Devlin, 58

Dateline: Walpole, MA

Patrick J. Devlin, age 58, of Walpole, formerly of Norton passed away on Monday, August 28, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Laura M. (Miles) Devlin. He is also survived by his loving mother Marjorie A. (Bechard) Devlin of Norton and by his devoted children Robert M. Devlin of Walpole, Margaret J. Devlin of Walpole and Katherine E. Devlin of Walpole

Born in Attleboro, MA on September 4, 1964, he was a loving son of the late Robert J. Devlin and Eleanor (Bauza) Devlin of Norton.

Pat grew up in Norton, was a 1982 graduate of Norton High School and graduated from Worcester Polytechnical Institute with a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering. At WPI, he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon.

Pat grew up playing football, first in Mansfield, then at Norton High School, serving as a captain in his senior year. He also played football for four years at WPI.

He worked for several decades as a medical device quality engineer and received a patent for his work at Davol in surgical hernia repairs. Pat also taught physics for several years at Dedham High School and Bishop Feehan High School. He enjoyed snow skiing and repairing and riding bicycles.

In addition to his wife, children and mother, he was the dear brother of Marcella K. Rippel of Wareham and Kathleen F. Rudder and her husband William of Plymouth. He was the much-loved son-in-law of Michael E. Miles of Northboro and the late Mary M. Miles. He is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Tuesday, September 5th from 9:00-11:00 A.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp Street (Off Route 140, Taunton Avenue) Norton.

His funeral service will begin at the conclusion of the visiting hours on Tuesday, September 5th at 11:00 A.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, followed by burial at the Timothy Plain Cemetery in Norton.
