Kenneth T. Boyer, 75, of Westport passed away at home on Monday, August 28, 2023 with his family by his side. He was the husband of Veronica J. (Bento) Boyer.
Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, son of the late George H. and Rita (Dolan) Boyer, and his late step-mother Exilda M. (Furtado) Boyer. He had been a resident of Westport for the past 40 years. Mr. Boyer was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War era from 1965 to 1969. He also served a year with the Rhode Island Army National Guard from 1974 to 1975. He was a proud member of the American Legion Post #145 and the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 207, both of Westport. A certified Respiratory Therapist, Ken worked for St. Anne's Hospital for 37 years. Mr. Boyer was active in scouting, serving on various committees at the pack, troop and district levels. He was a Webelos den leader, Assistant Cub Master, Cubmaster and Pack Committee Chairperson for Pack 100 and Troop Committee member for Troop 100 both of Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport. He also enjoyed time spent on the staff of Cub Scout Day Camp. Mr. Boyer enjoyed camping and yearly trips to Walt Disney World with family and friends. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors along with his wife include his 5 sons: Scott M. Boyer of Fall River, David B. Patykewich of CA, Mark C. Boyer of Fall River, Stephen A. Boyer and his wife Elizabeth of Tiverton and Jeffrey T. Boyer and his wife Amanda of Fall River; 2 daughters: Karen M. Dexter and her husband John Shaughnessy of Franklin, MA and Kimberly A. Boyer of Fall River; 6 grandchildren: Christopher, Jake, Chyanne, Cameron, Lilly-ann and Vaida; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late George D. Boyer.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, September 1, 2023 from the Potter Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport at 11:00 A.M.
Calling hours Thursday from 5-8 P.M.
Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
