AGAWAM - Theresa A. (Donovan) Desmarais, 75, of Agawam, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, August 26, 2023. She passed into Eternal Life at the Jewish Geriatric Services in Longmeadow surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Springfield on September 8, 1947, a beloved daughter of the late Michael F. and Anna (Granfield) Donovan. She was raised in Springfield, graduated from the Cathedral High School, Class of 1965, and moved to Agawam in the 1980's where she lived the remainder of her life. She was employed for many years at the Dress Barn in West Springfield and was previously an administrative assistant at Wall Street Journal in Chicopee. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and friends, but most especially, her grandchildren. She leaves her loving children, CecileAnn C. Desmarais of Florida, Nicole T. Cava, and Dylan M. Desmarais, both of Agawam; her four cherished grandchildren whom she adored, Sabrina and Krystal Potter, and Dominic and Isabella Cava; her dear brother, Daniel Donovan and his wife, Theresa, of Severn, MD; her two dear nieces, Elizabeth Taylor and Michelle Sellner and her husband, Paul; and her many dear cousins, friends, and extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her dear cousins, Ellen M. Murphy who was Called Home on September 3, 2017, and John F. Murphy who was Called Home on August 12, 2022. Her Funeral will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.), followed by a Prayer Service at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Her Burial will follow the Service at Saint Michael Cemetery, 1601 State Street, Springfield, MA 01109. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, September 1, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to the Service.
