Kathleen M. "Kay" (Connolly) Sheehan, a 9 year resident of Wakefield and formerly of Winthrop and Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Friday, August 25, 2023. She was 94 years of age.
Kay was born in Melrose on May 16, 1929, a daughter of the late Stephen Connolly and Bridget (O'Keefe) Connolly. She grew up in Charlestown where she attended St. Francis De Sales Parochial School and graduated from Girls High School. Kay was a member of IBEW Local 2222 and worked for the Telephone Company for 20 years, first beginning as an operator and then retiring as a clerk. She also worked as a teller for the Bank of New England. Kay enjoyed arts and crafts and was an avid quilter, knitter, and painter. She also enjoyed dancing and was a longtime and devoted parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Charlestown. She was a member of the Old Charlestown Schoolgirls Association and the Telephone Pioneers of America.
Kay is the beloved wife of the late Joseph Donald Sheehan. She is the devoted mother of Geri Anne Ferri and her husband Eugene, and Kathleen Sheehan and her husband Theodore Noell. She is the loving Nane of Joseph Ferri, Anna Ferri, and Bridget Noell. She is the dear sister of Stephen Connolly and his wife Linda, and the late Barbara Mele, Edward Connolly, and Eugene Connolly. She is the loving aunt of Barbara Sullivan, and Godmother to Kate Maffa. She is also survived by her many other loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives & friends are invited to attend Kay's Funeral on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Her burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Her visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. in the funeral home.
