TEWKSBURY: Theresa M. (Potter) Harrington, age 99, a resident of Tewksbury for 51 years, formerly of Somerville and Charlestown, passed away at home in the care of her family and hospice on Thursday, August 24, 2023.

She was the beloved wife of Francis J. Harrington, who passed away on April 1, 1973.

Born in the Charlestown section of Boston on April 24, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Edward J. Potter and the late Cecelia (Hurtubise) Potter.

Theresa was raised in Charlestown and graduated from St. Rose Parochial High School.

Prior to her retirement, she worked for the Tewksbury Public School Lunch Program.

Theresa was a member of the Tewksbury Golden Age Club and Senior Walk-In-Center, where she enjoyed many social gatherings and activities.

In her spare time, she loved playing bocci, cribbage, bowling, craft projects, and flower gardening.

She was the mother of Theresa M. Swallow and her husband James, the late Francis J. Harrington, Jr.,
James E. Harrington and his wife Karen, John J. Harrington, the late Paul F. Harrington, the late Joan T. Harrington, Maryann Bogannam and her husband Ken, Gail Harrington, and Mark Harrington and his late wife Sandra. Grandmother of Michelle Bavosi and her husband David, James Swallow, Francis J. Harrington, III,
Robert P. Harrington, James Harrington and his wife Ann, Patrick Harrington and his wife Diane, Shannon Harrington, the late Tracy Harrington Barbas and her surviving husband Chris, Lauren DeVincenzo and her husband Marc, Michael Harrington and his wife Jolene, Chris Harrington, Jeff Bogannam, the late Scott Bogannam, Alexander Rooney and Rebecca Harrington. Great Grandmother of Morgan Bavosi, the late Caitlin Bavosi, Brooklyn Harrington, James Joey, and Christina Harrington, Hailey Thibealut, Megan Harrington, Patrick Hogan and Evan Harrington and the Great Great Grandmother of Ryan Thibeault.

Calling hours are Tuesday, August 29th, from 9-11 a.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main Street, Route 38, Tewksbury. Interment at Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Friends of the Elderly, c/o Tewksbury Senior Center, 175 Chandler Street, Tewksbury, MA 01876.
