SPRINGFIELD – Carl R. Flink, 74, of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Monday, August 21, 2023. He passed into Eternal Life at Regal Care at Greenfield surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Springfield on October 19, 1948, a beloved son of the late Roland T. and Mary Ann (Courtney) Flink. A lifelong resident of Springfield, he was raised in the Hungry Hill section of the city and was a graduate of the former Cathedral High School in 1966. He furthered his education and received a Bachelor’s Degree from Saint Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire. He was employed as a Math Teacher at the former Springfield Technical High School where he also coached the Cross Country team. He previously worked for the Massachusetts Mutual Insurance Company in Springfield. He leaves his loving brother, John C. Flink and his wife, Patricia, of West Springfield; his loving sister, Anne M. Flink of Lansdale, Pennsylvania; his three cherished nephews, Jonathan A. Flink and his wife, Lauren, Timothy A. Flink and Adam G. Drucker; his cherished niece, Natalie K. Fournier and her husband, T.J.; his cherished grandnephew and grandniece, Ryan A. Flink and Emma A. Flink; and his many dear extended family members and friends. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth Flink Irish. His relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 395 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA 01104. His Burial will follow the Mass at Saint Michael Cemetery, 1601 State Street, Springfield, MA 01109. There are no visiting hours at the St. Pierre - Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107.
