Richard M. Anderson of Derry, NH, passed away on August 25, 2023, at the age of 81. Born on August 3, 1942, in Boston, Richard was raised in Roxbury, MA. He lived in Nashua, NH, for 48 years, and for the past nine years, he resided in Derry, NH. He was the son of the late Concetta (Vozzella) and Everett F. Anderson.
Richard graduated from Boston Latin School in 1960 and later attended Boston University, where he earned a BS in Biology. He also earned an MBA in Marketing from Rivier University.
In 1964, Richard married his beloved wife, Jean (Kulas), and together they settled in Nashua, NH, building their lifelong home. Richard spent his early career in environmental conservation and aquatic research, and in later years he served as a Marketing Director in the fields of life sciences and medical technology.
Richard had a wide array of interests and hobbies. He was a member of the Nashua Fish and Game Club and had a passion for fishing and target shooting. He was a history buff, car enthusiast, Boston Celtics fan, voracious reader, and collector of first edition books. In the 1970s, he competed in the amateur class at the New England Dragway.
Richard is survived by two daughters, Karen Durant and her husband Richard of Derry, NH, and Jennifer Anderson and her partner Frank Odlum of Nashua, NH; son, Michael Anderson and his wife Theresa of Merrimack, NH; seven grandchildren, Michael, Joseph, John, Simon, Henry, Lilly, and Jack; his dog, Poppy, and cat, Little Chin; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his loving wife of 41 years, Jean (Kulas) Anderson; and his brothers, Leonard Anderson, and Kenneth Anderson.
Following cremation, the family will hold memorial services at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please spend some time talking with someone that you love. This was Richard’s favorite pastime.
