Mary L. (Lester) Bonner, 87, of Anderson passed away following a brief illness on August 23, 2023 at her daughter's home in the company of her loved ones.
She was born on December 6, 1935 in Somerset, Kentucky to William Lester and Sarah Catherine Wesley.
She was an auto worker and member of UAW at Delco Remy and retired after 37 1/2 years.
She was a member of Chesterfield Community Church of God. She loved growing beautiful flowers, cooking meals, making jellies, jams, and pies and enjoyed taking them to her family and friends. She was famous for her Brisket roast, deviled eggs, and strawberry pies. Cooking and giving food was her love language.
She was survived by her daughter, Phyllis J. "PJ" (Steve) Price; a stepson, Rick (Nelya) Bonner all of Anderson; two grandsons, Benjamin (Ashley) Harber of Anderson and Daniel (Jennifer) Harber of Bellevue, CO; a step-granddaughter, Lexi Bonner of Anderson; two great-grandchildren, Charlie Grace Harber and Samuel David Harber; several nieces and nephews including, Steve (Debbie) Robbins, Anita (Steve) Caron, and Amy (Zyndall) Haste.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband, Donn Bonner; a brother, Norman Hurt; and a sister, Lucy Ludwig.
Funeral service will be at 12:00 noon on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Dr. Jerry Grubbs and Rev. Becky Fauntleroy officiating. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am- 12:00 noon on Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Community Hospice.
