Olga Silvera, 85, of Lawrence, MA passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, surrounded by the love and care of those who loved her most in life, her family.
Olga was born on June 15, 1938, in Holguin, Cuba to the late Carlos and Maria (Cabrera) Cruz. Olga was one of seven siblings and was an avid swimmer, teaching many in her family the love of the sport. This passion would eventually lead her on her journey to the United States.
As immigrants from Cuba, Olga, and her late husband, Edilberto Silvera, embodied the American Dream opening their own business and becoming successful entrepreneurs and active members of their beloved community in Lawrence, MA for over 50 years. Olga was loved and cherished by many in her community and was always easily recognized as the businesswoman in heels who drove her truck donned with the Silvera's clothing and furniture branding, her seat belt on and doors slid open.
Olga will forever be remembered as a sweet and loving human who had an altruistic spirit and enjoyed uplifting all those around her. She led with compassion, empathy, and an innate desire to leave a lasting impact on this world. Olga leaves a legacy of love and passion for life as she led with her heart and in turn was so deeply loved by all who shared in her life. Olga will be mourned by many people who were blessed enough to know her and call her mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
Olga is predeceased by her sons Leopoldo Silvera and John E. Silvera. She is survived by her daughters Agalys Silvera, Caridad Silvera and Gertrudis Silvera, 15 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
