Adeline C. Matheson, of Woburn, passed away suddenly, Friday, August 18, 2023, at age of 84. “Lee”, as she was affectionately known to her family and friends, was the beloved wife of the late John E. Matheson. Born in Somerville she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Anna (Brescia) Pento.
Lee was raised and educated in Woburn and for several years she owned and operated the former Lee Ann School of Dance which was located in North Woburn. She also worked for over ten years as a sales associate at Curtain Time of Stoneham. Lee and her husband were very active for many years with the Citations Drum and Bugle Corp serving on the Parents Committee. In her leisure time, Lee enjoyed annual camping trips in New Hampshire, traveling and taking cruise vacations with friends and family. Mostly devoted to her family, nothing made her happier than to be surrounded by those she loved. She will be greatly missed.
Lee is survived by her children; John E. Matheson, Jr. and his wife Karen of Medford, Robert Matheson and his wife Doreen of Woburn, Deborah Anderson and her husband Frank "Eric" of Woburn, and Bonnie Barry of Woburn. She was the loving grandmother of Alyssa Foresteire and her husband Joe, Arielle Mason and her husband Shawn, Robert Matheson Jr., Rachel Sparks and her husband Scott, Olivia and Ava Celona, Steve Jensen and his wife Melissa, Chris Jensen, Ryan Jensen and his wife Emily, Tiffani Ribeiro and her husband Jesse. She is also survived by 12 loving great grandchildren. Sister of Paul Pento of Woburn, Daniel Pento of Florida, and the late Beverly McCue.
A funeral service will be conducted in the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Saturday, August 26th, at 12 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Lee's memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the American Parkinson's Disease Association, 85 East Concord Street, Ground Floor, Boston, MA 02118.
