Obituary

Lucille (Mantini) LaBate passed away peacefully, accompanied by the love of her family, at the Kaplan Hospice on Friday, August 18th. She was 92. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Susan (Masiello) Mantini.

Raised in Somerville, Lucille graduated from Somerville High School with the class of 1949. After her marriage to her beloved husband Joseph, the family eventually settled in Lexington where she made her home and raised her children. In recent years she resided with her daughter's family in Danvers. Lucille was a devout woman and worked for many years with the Lexington and later, Danvers school systems. She was devoted to her family and especially looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed dancing, watching movies and doing crossword puzzles and word searches.

The beloved wife of the late Joseph G. LaBate, Lucille was the devoted mother of Carol DeCristoforo and her husband Robert of Danvers, Joseph LaBate of Florida, Paul LaBate and his wife Kerry of Carey, North Carolina, Linda LaBate of Danvers and the late Guy LaBate formerly of Chicopee. Lucille was a loving grandmother to Jennifer, Michelle, Kasandra, Brandon, and Dylan. She was a loving great-grandmother to Ayla, Liana, Natalie, Blake, Emily and Giana. She was also the dear sister of the late Tino Mantini and Rose Marie Francione.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit on Saturday morning, August 26th , from 8:30 – 10:30 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Catherine of Genoa Church, 179 Summer Street, Somerville, at 11 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
