Daniel Thomas Ward, 72, of Pelham, NH, passed away on August 15th with his daughters by his side.
Born in Lawrence, MA to the late George and Elizabeth (Sheehan) Ward, he was one of eight children. He met the love of his life, Kathleen, as a teenager and they were married for 50 years before she passed away in 2019. Dan’s love for Kathy was truly immeasurable.
He served in the Marine Corps and after his discharge, he worked as a plasterer and fire-proofer. A member of the Boston Plasterers and Cement Masons Union Local 534 for over 40 years, if you look at the Boston skyline, take a moment to think of Dan.
He became an auto mechanic and had his own shop in Pelham before he retired. In retirement, he became the best baby sitter to his “grand-doggies” Stella and Louie who he loved so very much.
Dan had a generous heart and a devious sense of humor. When his daughters were young, he often took them on vacation to Disney World. As adults, the venue changed to Las Vegas.
He is survived by his two daughters, Maureen (Ward) Collier and her husband John of Litchfield, NH; Charlene Ward and her boyfriend Jovian Deadees of Los Angeles, CA; as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his siblings James, Mary, George, Elizabeth, Gerald, Sharon and William.
Boone has left the building.
On Thursday, August 24, 2023 all are welcome to attend his calling hours from 4 - 8 p.m. at Tewksbury Funeral Home, 1 Dewey Street, Tewksbury, 978-851-2061.
His funeral will begin on Friday morning, gathering between 9:30-9:55 a.m. at the funeral home for his funeral service at 10 a.m. followed by procession to Gibson Cemetery in Pelham, NH.
