At 17 years old, Angele came to the United States from post WWII France. Born in Marseilles she made the trans-Atlantic voyage to Boston in order to be with her beloved sister, Elise, who was a recent war bride. Angele and her sister helped bring their parents and their two other sisters to the United States where they all became patriotic Americans.
She lived a happy, family filled and devout life committed to her Christian faith and the St. James Armenian Church. She appreciated nature’s beauty and loved to read.
She was a teacher in the Lexington Public Schools, where she pioneered the foreign language program for elementary students, Newton Catholic, the St. Clements School and was a Sunday School teacher at the St. James Church. Angele was a graduate of Medford High School and Lowell Teachers College (UMass Lowell).
She was totally devoted to her husband Arthur, who died at the young age of 52 in 1980. Although she lived a long and happy life after his death she still prayed for Arthur, and all her family, every day. Hers was a true and selfless love for her husband and her family. Her greatest joys were extended family gatherings with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and beloved nieces and nephews.
Angele died as she lived – quietly, courageously, peacefully and with grace. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
