TEWKSBURY - Thomas D. Lombardi, 79, a longtime Tewksbury resident, passed away on Tuesday, August 15 at Lowell General Hospital after a brief illness preceded by a long period of declining health. Tommy passed peacefully with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Sandra (Coholan) Lombardi, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage.
He was born on July 4, 1944 in Cambridge, a son of the late Frank Lombardi and the late Nora (Martin) Lombardi. He was raised and educated in the Medford area and was a graduate of Medford High School.
Tommy was a longtime member of the Medford Boat Club where he loved to play Bocce and spend time on his boat, the affectionately named “Sandi”. He was also a communicant of St. William of York Parish in Tewksbury for many years. His time spent in Cancun, Mexico during the winters at his property with his wife, Sandra, meant the world to him.
Tommy will be remembered for his sense of humor, a joker even up until his last breaths.
For most of his life, from the age of 16 on he worked at Tra Con Epoxy before his retirement as a vice president at the age of 62.
Besides his dear wife, Sandra, He is survived by his 3 daughters, Sheri Tosto-Lombardi of Tewksbury, Renee Keane and her husband, Thomas, of Fort Myers, Florida, Tanya Lombardi of Lowell; his grandchildren, Paul, Brad, Britney, Ashley, Amanda, Jarrell, Abigail and Trace; his siblings, Carol Mackey and her husband, Jim, of Tewksbury, Ronnie Lombardi and Jeannette Lombardi of Medford, Noreen McRae of Burlington, Susan Oranczar and her husband, Michael, of Rockport and Jimmy Lombardi of Andover, several nieces and nephews and his in laws, Bob Prosperi of Lynnfield, Bev Crowley and her husband, Jim, of Billerica, Ronnie Coholan of Methuen. Last but not least, he leaves his beloved dog "Lily".
He was a brother of the late Charles Lombardi, Francis Lombardi, Janice Lombardi. Uncle of the late Keith Lombardi and the late Justin Lombardi, brother in law of the late Marilyn Lombardi and the late Carol Prosperi.
All are welcome his visitation on Sunday August 20 from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Tewksbury Funeral Home, 1 Dewey Street, Tewksbury, MA 01876.
