Marilyn G. (Poole) Jubinville, 74 of Worcester passed away on Wednesday, August 16th at Sterling Village after a battle with Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy, which was discovered in January of this year.
Born May 25, 1949, to Dorothy J. Smith and Elmo T. Poole, she was born and raised in Worcester, MA where she spent all of her life. Marilyn had worked at UMass Memorial Hospital in Medical Records for the past 30 years.
Marilyn is survived by her 2 children; Timothy P. Jubinville and his wife, Elizabeth of Spencer, MA and Melissa Bramlett and her husband, Scott of Los Angeles, CA; 3 grandchildren, Luke Jubinville of Warwick, RI, Leia Jubinville of Spencer, MA and Kennedy Bramlett of Los Angeles, CA. She also leaves her brother, Thomas G. Poole of Leicester, MA; her best friend of 45 years, Elaine Manzi; her travel partner and cousin, Joan Going; her special friends, John Aromando and Bernie Beland; a nephew Richard Poole, many cousins, extended family and friends.
Marilyn or Mal (as she was affectionately called by those who knew her), was a Yankees fan to her core despite being born in Mass. This dedication led to her often falling asleep while watching the games on a daily basis before rising for work at 3:45 am. She took the utmost pride in her appearance and was a fashion trailblazer. Mal was a fiercely strong and independent woman, whom seldomly ever asked anyone for anything. Despite never having a license, she took the bus to and from work every day for 30 years never complaining no matter how bad the weather. Mal loved to travel, frequently visiting places such as Punta Cana, Bermuda, Hawaii, California, Las Vegas, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Aruba and the Bahamas. Her love of travel is why she continued work into her 70’s.
To her final breath, Mal said her greatest gift was her 3 grandchildren. She loved being a “Mimi” and cherished all 3 of her grandchildren, taking pride in all that they do. She loved hosting Christmas Eve for family and friends every year, enjoyed wagering on football pools, visiting the casino, and going out to dinner and drinks with friends at Joeys, Zorba’s or her favorite spot Peppercorns. Energetic, wise and, loving, she took such pride in being an honest and truthful person. She will be greatly missed by all those who were a part of her life.
Her family would especially like to thank Allisa Radula of Sterling Village and Megan Dumais of Trinity-Hospice for all of their help, understanding and efforts.
Her funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 23rd at 10:00 am in St. Peter's Catholic Church, 929 Main Street. Please meet directly at church. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemtery, 260 Cambridge Street. O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue is assisting the family with arrangements.
