Celena Claire Haydon, 93, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, August 18, 2023, at Palemon Gaskins Memorial Nursing Home in Ocilla, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Evergreen Cemetery, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Steve O’Neal officiating. The family will greet friends following the graveside services.
Miss Haydon was born November 15, 1929, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to the late Warren & Jeannette Ellison Haydon. She was a volunteer with special needs children, she loved to travel and spend time with her family. Miss Haydon was a dedicated member of the First Presbyterian Church for over 58 years and enjoyed the music and choir. She especially loved the Lord and her church family.
She is survived by her niece, Jeannette Achord of Fitzgerald; and nephew, Harry Greer & Stefini of Melbourne, Florida; great-nieces and nephews: Jennifer & Ashley Newell, Jessica & Zach Morey, Judith Achord, H.E. & Jenny Greer, Scott & Angelika Greer and Shari Greer & Libby Ransdell; great-great-nieces and nephews: Ashton “Bubba” Newell, Avery Newell, Zoe Morey, Ava Morey, Chandler Greer, Camryn Greer, Eyden Greer, Camdyn Greer and Brooksdyn Greer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lottie Haydon Greer.
