Elizebeth Janet (Bederian) Ober, 87, of Franklin, died August 17 at her home following a long illness. She was the wife of the late David R. Ober who died in 2007.
Born in Franklin, August 1, 1936, the daughter of the late Barsam “Henry” and Catherine (Burton) Bederian, Elizabeth was a lifelong Franklin resident.
Betty along with her husband had owned and operated Ober Express in Franklin for many years.
Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the center of her life. Betty always had time to talk with her friends, neighbors and family. She enjoyed creating crafts and sharing them. She gave generously to activities and charities in Franklin throughout her life.
She is survived by her children, Catherine McCahill and her husband the late Bernard F. McCahill of Franklin, Cynthia Bertoni and partner John Christiani of Franklin, Candace Forte and her husband John of Franklin, Carol Lynne Ober of Franklin and Cheryl Costa of Keene, New Hampshire.
She is also survived by her brothers Larry Bederian and Barsam Bederian of Franklin.
She was the sister of the late Barbara Meyer, Charles Bederian, Harry Bederian, Leo Bedirian, David Bederian and Priscilla Sheridan.
Elizabeth is also survived by her grandchildren, Suzanne McCahill, Todd Bertoni, Bernard McCahill IV, Elizabeth Williams, Alicia, Ryan and Brianna Forte and Cullen and Cailyn Costa and her great- grandchildren, Peter, Jessica and Anna Bertoni, Cillian and Reagan Williams, and Lakelynn Young.
Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 22 in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Union Street Cemetery, Franklin.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 22 from 9:00a.m. - 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
