Paul Herve Chagnon, 72, of Raymond, NH passed away suddenly Wednesday, August 16, 2023. Paul was born August 18, 1950 in Lawrence, MA and was one of nine children of Arthur and Angeline (Doucette) Chagnon. He was raised and educated in Lawrence and resided in Chester, NH and Williamsburg, VA prior to settling in Raymond for the past 5 years.
Paul served his country as a member of the US Navy from 1970 to 1974. He was employed as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Huntington Ingalls, a military shipbuilder, in Newport News, VA for many years before retiring in 2018. Paul enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing cards, and spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed listening to oldies, especially the Beatles, Roy Orbison and the Moody Blues. Paul was looking forward to attending this September the 50th annual E.S.P. Reunion, a fall camping trip he helped create with his friend Dave Iworsky.
Family members include his wife of 52 years, Lorraine Chagnon of Raymond, a daughter Kim Millien and her husband Jonathan of Andover, MA, two sons, Christopher Chagnon and his partner Melissa-Anne Mack of Conway, SC, and Jonathan Chagnon and his wife Katharine of Londonderry, NH, Eight grandchildren: Andrew, Tyler, Gabrielle, Justin, Hayden, Jared, Hailey and Logan. His great grandson Jordan, two brothers, Frank Chagnon and his wife Brenda and Joe Chagnon and his wife Doreen, one sister, Mary Chagnon, a brother-in-law, George Dupee and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Chagnon, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by three brothers, Arthur, Raymond and Peter Chagnon, and two sisters, Doris Dupee and Cecile Chagnon.
Calling hours will be held Monday August 21, 2023, from 5 to 7 pm at the Peabody Funeral Home and Crematorium 290 Mammoth Road in Londonderry, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, at 10 am in St. Jude Parish 435 Mammoth Road Londonderry, NH and burial will be at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Cemetery of Lawrence, MA.
