Sue Brown Foster, 89, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, was called home by her Lord on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Community Hospice in Vidalia, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 3 PM, Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Irwinville Baptist Church in Irwinville, Georgia, with the Rev. Mark Spence and the Rev. Jeff Ford officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Fitzgerald. The family will receive friends from 1PM until 2:30 PM, prior to the service at Irwinville Baptist Church.
Mrs. Foster was born July 22, 1934, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Perry Larkin Brown, Sr. & Elizabeth “Bessie” Brown Teague. She was a graduate of Irwin County High School. Mrs. Foster formerly owned and operated Sue’s Hallmark in downtown Fitzgerald and also owned and operated Link Realty. She was a fervent prayer warrior and prayed for her children and grandchildren each night by name. As a member of Irwinville Baptist Church, Mrs. Foster had served as choir director, organist, pianist, Sunday school teacher and Girls in Action director.
She is survived by her daughters: Kaye Guthrie of Douglas and Suzanne (Bob) Dixon of Vidalia; grandchildren: Natalie (Jeff) Ford of Cleveland, Doug Pope of Douglas, John (Elizabeth) Dixon of Newnan, Elizabeth (Michael) Madison of Birmingham, Alabama, Abigail Dixon of Atlanta, and Paul (Chelsea) Dixon of Smyrna; and great-grandchildren: Jorjanne (Anson) Drury of Statesboro, David Dixon of Newnan, Ansley Dixon of Newnan, Hank Dixon of Birmingham, Alabama, and Beau Dixon of Smyrna. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Doug Foster; a granddaughter, Jorjanne Pope; and siblings: Perry Brown, Eloise Palo, Geneva Nolan, Jack Brown, and Danny Teague.
