Samuel Rains, 46, of Tifton, Georgia, died Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at City of Hope Atlanta in Newnan, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Sunday, August 20, 2023, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with Pastor Kenny Wells officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends Saturday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Rains was born February 11, 1977, in Lima, Ohio, to the late J.C. & Joann Lasley Rains. He was a regional sales representative for Lowe’s. Sam loved music and being outdoors. He enjoyed building furniture and was very family oriented, cherishing time spent with his loved ones and friends. He was a member of Grace Fellowship.
He is survived by two sons: Drake & Cindy Rains of Ocilla and Joel Rains of Kentucky; and siblings: Steve & Lisa Rains of Ohio, Lisa & Todd Warren of Kentucky, Michelle & Brad McDonald of Tifton, and Adam Rains of Tifton. Several nieces and nephews also survive along with his faithful canine companion, Togo. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Mitch Rains.
