Jaden R. Araujo, 18, of Westport, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 6, 2023 at Hasbro Children's Hospital. He was the son of Norma M. Araujo and her husband Todd J. Medeiros of Westport and Richard A. Moore and his wife Brenda Sousa-Moore of Newport.
Jaden was born and raised in Fall River and had resided in Westport since 2019 and attended Westport High School. As a child, through the Special Olympics, he played on a baseball and a bowling team. He also participated through the years in adaptive sailing and skiing with New England Disabled Sports (N.E.D.S.) He enjoyed playing piano and singing, collecting watches, and watching his favorite movies. Jaden attended youth group and children's church at Calvary Temple Assembly of God, Fall River.
Jaden was truly loved by everyone that knew him. He was always the brightest light in any room and drew everyone to him. His silly personality always made people laugh and his innocent, pure heart made him special to everyone he met. He was a wonderful son, brother, and friend and he will be sincerely missed.
Survivors along with his parents and step-parents include siblings: Alexa Deasley and fiancé Dillon Cassidy of Austin, TX; Emalene Moore of Boston, MA; and Jackson Moore of East Freetown, MA.
Calling hours Sunday from 1-4 P.M.
Funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Sunday, August 20, 2023 at the Potter Funeral Home at 4 P.M.
Interment will be private.
