Joe Darrell Dunn, 93, of Anderson died August 13, 2023 surrounded by his family following a very brief illness.
He was born March 13, 1930, in Anderson the son of Lee and Dorothy (Maier) Dunn.
He was co-owner of Lee Dunn and Sons and worked as a mechanic at Delco Remy for 20 years.
He was a member of Chesterfield Christian Church for over 60 years; member of Fellowship Masonic Lodge # 681 and R.O.M.E.O.s. He enjoyed woodworking, loved camping, eating ice cream and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his son, Timothy (Victoria) Dunn of Anderson; three grandchildren, Christopher Lee (Jessica) Dunn, Julie Ann Dunn and Stephanie Sue (Skip) Hamilton; three great-grandchildren, Aiden Dunn, Bee Hamilton and Gabriel Hamilton;
daughter-in-law, Connie Dunn; special friend, Kathy Dunn and nephew, Tony Dunn;
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Alice Lee (Walters) Dunn whom he married August 20, 1950 and his son, Bobbie Joe Dunn; brother, Harry Dunn; sister, Betty (Dunn) Ashby and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 12 noon Friday, August 18, 2023 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service (West entrance) with Ned Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday from 10 am until the Masonic Service at 11:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Chesterfield Christian Church.
