Robert “Bob” Leo Bouchard, 67, of New Bedford MA, passed away on August 13, 2023.
Throughout his life, Bob had many interests. He was a carpenter by trade and took pride in the small detail work he was so good at. In his youth, he loved to play baseball and golf and later enjoyed camping and fishing. Bob was also very passionate about helping others. He spent many years as a volunteer fireman with the Chilmark fire department, and more recently, he spent years helping at Mercy Meals & More in New Bedford. Bob was always quick with a smile and loved reading and sharing stories with friends. Of all the hats he wore (besides the baseball cap, which he never left home without), the one that brought him the most joy was that of being a father.
Bob is survived by his children: Stephanie Neipris and her husband Nathan Neipris of Wrentham; Ashley Waters and her husband Michael Waters of Edgartown; Lyle Bouchard of Leicester; grandchildren: Michael Waters, Hailey Waters, Alan Neipris, and Dorothy Neipris, and step-grandchildren: Danielle Grillo and Dillon Neipris. He is also survived by his brothers: David Bouchard and Michael Bouchard, along with several nieces and nephews and grandnieces and nephews. He also leaves a large extended family of cousins, aunts, uncles, and many friends including his roommate Dennis Proulx.
He is predeceased by his son, Charles Bouchard, and his parents, Edward Bouchard and Theresa (Longchamps) Bouchard.
A graveside service will be held at Notre Dame Cemetery, 1540 Stafford Road, Fall River MA, on Monday, August 28, 2023 at 11 am. All are invited to attend.
