Anne T. Carrigg, 87, of Brockton, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2023.
Nancy, as she was called by her family, was born in Brockton, daughter of the late Thomas F. Carrigg and Mora (Swift) Carrigg, the fifth of six children. She attended the Ecole Du Sacre-Coeur and St. Patrick's High School in Brockton.
Nancy was a history professor at Stonehill College in Easton for over forty years. She earned a Bachelor Degree in History from Stonehill College, a Master of Arts Degree in Teaching from Boston College School of Education, a Master of Arts Degree in History, and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in History from Boston College School of Arts and Sciences. She held a graduate assistantship at the Boston College History and Government Department and a four year teaching fellowship at the Boston College Department of History, the Boston College School of Nursing and the Boston College School of Education. She also taught at Fontbonne Academy in Milton.
In 2017, she published a book titled "The Conservation Movers: Experiments in Nature Philanthropy."
Nancy is survived by her sister Mary Carrigg of Brockton, along with her nephews Thomas, John, William, Joseph, Christopher and Paul Carrigg and one niece, Kathleen Butler. She also leaves several grandnieces and grandnephews. She is predeceased by her four older brothers, Thomas Carrigg Jr., John Carrigg, William Carrigg (Fr. Bill) and George Carrigg (Fr. George).
Family and friends will honor and remember Nancy by gathering for visitation in Christ the King Church, 54 Lyman Street, Brockton on August 18th, 9:15-10:15 A.M. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Randolph.
