Gene Lewis Revels, Sr., 83, of Leesburg, Georgia, died Sunday, August 13, 2023, at Golden Apple Assisted Living in Moultrie, Georgia.
Memorial graveside services will be held 10 AM, Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Brushy Creek Cemetery, in Irwin County, Georgia.
Mr. Revels was born October 25, 1939, in Tifton, Georgia, to the late Bill Revels and Ann Revels Andrews. He served in the United States Air Force. Mr. Revels was a police officer in Tifton and worked for AATCO Transmission, later known as Transmission Crafters, for over 30 years. He loved singing gospel music and whistling. Mr. Revels enjoyed his grandkids and holding babies, fishing in Apalachicola, Florida, antique trucks and dancing.
He is survived by his children: Gene Revels, Jr. of Cordele, Rebecca Ann Woods & Steve of Panama City, Florida and Dan Revels of Atlanta; grandchildren: Brody Revels, Leah Doyon and Magan Eakes & Ab and a great-grandchild on the way. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Christy Maxine Whitley Revels; a sister, Carol Griffin and a brother, Donnie Revels.
