Thomas P. Garvey, age 61, passed away on August 7, 2023 at the Dartmouth Hospital in New Hampshire. He was born on August 25, 1961 in Springfield, son of the late Daniel and Mary P. (Teahan) Garvey. Thomas was a communicant of Mary Mother of Hope Parish. He served in the United States Air Force. He later worked for the United States Postal Service for many years as a mail handler. Thomas was a member of the Brimfield Sportsmen’s Club, the John Boyle O’Riley Club, American Legion Post 420 and the Marconi Club. He was also an avid sportsman. He is survived by his son David LaFromboise of Springfield; his daughter Jennifer Roy of Springfield; two brothers, Daniel Garvey of Florida and Paul Garvey of Agawam; two sisters, Maureen Burke of Springfield and Ann Belden of Enfield, CT; four grandchildren, Aliza, Matthew, Kayleigh and Adalyn; his beloved dog Jax along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly. He is predeceased by his brother Kevin Garvey. Calling hours will be held on the morning of the funeral, Monday, August 21, 2023 from 8:00 – 9:30 AM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee followed by an in-house Prayer Service at 9:30AM.
