Betty Monteen Powell Mallard, 82, of Norman Park passed away Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Pruitt Hospice in Moultrie. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mrs. Mallard at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at Pine Crest Memory Gardens in Moultrie, where she will be laid to rest. The Rev. Alan Tillman and Brother David Walden will officiate.
Whitney Tillman, Ken Haughton, Ben Walden and Eric Tillman will serve as pallbearers.
Born February 7, 1941, in Worth County, Mrs. Mallard was the daughter of the late Delton Powell, Sr. and Mary Etta Watson Powell. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Mamie Tompkins and one brother, Delton Powell, Jr. Before retiring, she worked as a hair stylist and a seamstress. She was of the Baptist faith and she enjoyed woodworking, cake decorating, flower arranging, cooking and gardening.
Mrs. Mallard is survived by her husband Charles Mac Mallard of Norman Park; two daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Ken Haughton of Norman Park and Nan and Alan Tillman of Moultrie; one brother and sister-in-law, Jackie and Faye Powell of Berlin; one sister, Myrtle Thornton of Tifton; two grandchildren and their spouses, Kristan and David Walden and Whitney Tillman; and one great-grandson, Ben Walden.
