John S. “Jack” Robinson, Jr. 83, of Salem, passed away at his home, peacefully, Friday, August 12, 2023. He was the devoted husband of June T. (Dupuis) Robinson, with whom he shared sixty two years of marriage.
Born and raised in Salem in his early years and later in Danvers, he was the son of the late John S. Robinson, Sr. and Ethel F. (Connors) Robinson. John was employed as a machine operator, at Bicknell & Fuller in Salem and later in Peabody. He and June married in April of 1961. He retired from Bicknell & Fuller after 42 years with the company and began working in the housekeeping department at Salem Hospital, a job he loved and held for 12 years. Following that, he was a crossing guard at Horace Mann School in Salem.
Jack enjoyed time spent with his family and large extended family and friends. He was an avid sports fan of all the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots as well as Salem High Football.
In addition to his wife June, he is survived by their three children, Marie R. Robinson and John H. Robinson, Sr. and his wife Joyce all of Salem, Jeffrey S.”Digger”Robinson and his wife Stacy of Newfield, ME, and a brother, Paul Robinson of Athol. He was also a loving “P” to John H. Jr. and Diana Robinson both of Salem, Jillian M. and Jared E. Robinson both of Lynn, Corey D. and Mikayla A. Robinson both of Newfield, ME and his great-grandchildren John H. Robinson, III and Jackie L. Robinson, in addition to nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visiting hours on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. His funeral service and burial service will be private for the family.
