Obituary

WEBSTER – Daniel N. Gaudette, 85, of Webster and a longtime resident of Southbridge, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, August 1, 2023. He passed into Eternal Life at Daybrook Senior Living in Holyoke surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Spencer on November 9, 1937, a beloved son of the late Origene J. and Dorothy L. (Reilly) Gaudette. He was raised in Southbridge and moved to Webster in 1959 where he lived for most of his life. He served in the United States Army National Guard and attained the rank of Specialist Fifth Class. He was a lifelong employee at the former B & W Footwear and was a longtime communicant of Sacred Heart Church, both in Webster. Daniel was a hard working man who enjoyed the simple things in life, but most of all, spending time with his wife and family. He leaves his loving wife and best friend of 63 years, Arlene F. (Chomes) Gaudette; his loving daughter and son, Susan Grimes of Webster and Timothy Gaudette of Holyoke; his cherished granddaughter, Allison Grimes of Newport, RI; his dear sister, Joyce Swana of Webster; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his two dear brothers and three dear sisters, Gene Gaudette, Donald Gaudette, Dorothy Senecal, Judith Dupont, and Susan Desabre.
