Obituary

NORTH BROOKFIELD__Ronald Valinski 88, of N. Brookfield, MA passed away suddenly on August 10. He was predeceased by his wife Eleanore (Greska) Valinski. He leaves behind their children and their spouses Ronald Valinski (Angela), Robert Valinski, and Carol Valinski Maloney (Michael). He is survived by their grandchildren, their spouses, and great grandchildren. Their grandchildren Stephanie (Aaron) Welch, Nathaniel Valinski, Jeremy Valinski, Elizabeth (David) Teabo, Nicholas Valinski, Madeline (Michael) Gelsinon, Theodore Valinski, Christopher Maloney, Benjamin (Sophie) Maloney and Sam Maloney, and great grandchildren Caleigh, Abigail, & AJ Welch and Uri & Serenity Valinski.

Ronald survived the very recent passing of his wife of 37 years, Beverly (Cunic Yvanauskas). They left behind her children and their spouses Joseph (Laurie) Yvanauskas, Debra Giovannucci, and Michael (Annie) Yvanauskas; and her grandchildren Casey Yvanauskas, Amanda Giovannucci, Jonathan Giovannucci, and Kristina Yvanauskas.

Ronald was an avid mechanic and loved working on all engines, cars, tractors, and heavy equipment. He started work at George Motors until he went into business with his father at the Citgo Station on Park Ave. Later he worked with his brother Bill on West Boylston St. He later retired from the City of Worcester, where he had worked on Heavy machine engines. Ron often told stories of when he took the tow truck from George Motors to help in the rescue efforts after the 1953 Worcester tornado....pulling flattened houses off their foundations with the bishop in his passenger seat. Ron also loved Volkswagen Beetles and seemed to find a new one to rebuild almost every year.....this led to him being the Zamboni mechanic for Holy Cross for several years. When his sons were teenagers, the driveway was often filled with cars being repaired on a Saturday morning and Ron taught the boys and their friends everything from brake repairs to bodywork. He was lucky to work his whole life doing something he loved.

He greatly enjoyed the Lake Lashaway home including large family gatherings, and family and friends dropping by throughout the years. This included his love of boating, sailing, bucket hats and teaching the future generations.
