STEEVES, Ralph I. of Dedham, August 8, 2023 passed away peacefully surrounded by his family after a brave battle with cancer. Beloved father to Kerry Marino and her husband Stephen Marino, Scott Steeves and his partner Vicki Scena, and Sheryl Steeves and her husband Brian Ouellette. Cherished grandfather to Christopher Marino and his wife Cayla, Paige DeBonis and her husband Stephen, Wyatt Ouellette and Boone Ouellette. Adored brother to Kenneth Steeves and his wife Jane. Devoted uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Ralph was predeceased by his parents, Ralph and Virginia (Battos) Steeves; his sister, Jean Murphy; his brother, George Steeves; and his niece, Michelle Steeves.
Born in Roxbury, MA, Ralph was raised in Roslindale before settling in Dedham where he raised his family. Ralph was a member of the Carpenters Union Local #67 for 60 years and owner of Accurate Acoustics for 30 years.
Member of the Elks Lodge #10 in West Roxbury, MA. Member and past chairman of Dedham’s Planning Board. Ralph was best known for his colorful commentary during his 30 year commitment to the town of Dedham.
His family and friends will best remember him for his limitless generosity, unwavering commitment to his family, and his incredible work ethic. They will forever cherish memories of his enthusiastic storytelling and selflessness.
In his spare time, you could find him golfing with friends at Norwood Country Club or playing cards at the Elks. He was an avid cribbage player at the American Legion in Dedham and a voracious reader of mystery novels. Ralph was a devoted family man and will be dearly missed.
Visiting hours at the William J. Gormley Funeral Home 2055 Centre St. WEST ROXBURY, Tuesday, August 15th from 9-11am followed by a Celebration of Life at 11am. Relatives and friends invited.
