Charles D. Bracken passed away peacefully at home under Hospice Home Comfort Care on August 1, 2023. Chuck was born in Philipsburg, PA on May 2, 1931 to Donald Lorenzo Bracken and Jessie (Middleton) Bracken Wahlenmaier. Chuck served in the navy during the Korean war. Upon discharge he went to work for Western Electric and part time at Beth Israel Hospital in accounting dept. He attended night school at Boston University to receive his Bachelor’s degree.
Charles was married to his predeceased wife Doris (Marchetti) Bracken and had five children. David and his wife Linda (Bouchard) of Barre Town VT and Jupiter, FL. Alison Bracken and her significant other, Tom Fazio, of Burlington, MA, Jane (Bracken) Kay and her husband Jim of Shelburne, VT, Tommy and his wife Rhonda (Grasso) Bracken of Melbourne Australia and Dan and wife Pamela (DiPasquale) Bracken of Lakewood, OH. He was loved by his six grandchildren, Sam and Will Kay, Kristen Bracken and Jessi Butler, Brier and Baird Bracken.
Chuck loved to gardening, reading, all animals and enjoyed his yearly fishing trip. Chuck decided many years ago to donate his body to the Boston University anatomical gift division; he called it the ultimate recycle and could also receive his “master’s degree” at the same time.
