Peter Francis Cenedella, 70, of Medway died August 8 in Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Boston after an unexpected battle with brain cancer. He was the husband of Joy Ann (Iafolla) Cenedella for the past 43 years.
Born in Milford, January 8, 1953, the son of the late Arthur and Veronica (Mikalop) Cenedella, Peter was a lifelong Medway resident.
He was a 1971 graduate of Medway High School, and starred in three Medway sports, baseball, football and basketball.
Peter decided to forgo college and enter the work force in order to help raise his daughter Michelle.
Peter began his working career in 1971 for Harvard Apparatus in Millis. He later moved to Waters Associates in Milford and worked there as a Senior Planner in production for 16 years. Following that he worked again at Harvard Apparatus before retiring.
In his younger years he enjoyed playing softball and fishing. Later in life he found joy in playing golf as well. He was a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox and the Patriots.
In Peter's later years, he enjoyed watching the stock market every morning and taking his daily drive to the Little Store with his dog, Kado, for a scratch ticket and playing KENO.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters Michelle Y. Napper of Hopedale and Ashley J. Clinton and her husband Daniel of Hopedale.
He is also survived by his sister Christine Larocque and her husband Moe of Bellingham.
Peter is also survived by his grandchildren, Miranda and Devon Napper and Bryce and Jayce Clinton.
His funeral service will be held on Monday, August 14 in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com)
3 Barber Street, Medway at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Medway.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. in the funeral home.
