Matthew Richard Cutter, 45, of Edgartown MA passed away on Monday August 7, 2023.
Matthew was born on April 30,1978 in Fairborn OH to David B. Cutter of North Berwick ME and Julia K. Cutter of Hawkinsville GA.
After graduating from Noble High School, he attended 4 years at the University of New Hampshire Business School. After college he moved to Martha’s Vinyard to begin a career in the restaurant industry. He was the bar manager before moving into the position of beverage manager at Atlantic before ending his career with Woods Hole, Martha’s Vineyard Steamship Authority as a member of the Teamsters Local 59 out of New Bedford MA.
Matthew was someone who loved being immersed in a crowd of people, laughing, and joking around. Matthew always had a love for the ocean. Over the years Matthew has traveled to St. Johns in the winter season where he obtained his Captains license which allowed him to Captain cat tours. He was most happy out on the ocean exploring the British Virgin Islands and new places. Matthew thought the world of his family. Always wanting to introduce his family to everyone he knew. He was very loving and caring, never hesitated to help when needed. Matthew treated everyone he loved as family, and he will be truly missed.
He is survived by his grandmother Olief Price of Hawkinsville GA, his parents David Cutter of North Berwick ME, and Julia Cutter of Hawkinsville GA. His brothers and sisters Aaron Glover of Moose Jaw Saskatchewan, Alan Cutter of Hudson MA, Nathan Cutter of South Berwick ME, Joshua Cutter of North Berwick, Amy Cutter of Boynton Beach FL, Sarah Cutter of Eastman GA, Katie Cutter of Naples ME, and Eric Cutter of Cochran GA. He leaves behind 18 nieces, nephews and several aunts and uncles. His girlfriend Nicole Mejia, son Andre, and Mother Maria. He was predeceased by his sister Rachel Cutter and grandfather Jerry Price and Henry, Claire & Gertrude Cutter grandparents.
Memorial services will be held at the Edgartown Harbor Lighthouse on Martha’s Vineyard Friday, August 11,2023 @ 4pm. In lieu of flowers we are asking for donations to help another family in need, more details at a later date.
