Newburyport

Linda M. (Higgins) Tremblay, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Avita of Newburyport following a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was the loving wife of the late Norman F. Tremblay with whom she shared 56 years of marriage.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Bertha (Caron) Higgins. A graduate of St. Chretienne Academy in Salem, Linda married the love of her life, Norman, shortly after her graduation. Together with her husband they devoted most of their time to the raising of their young family. As the children advanced in the schooling, she began working for Sears Service Center in Danvers as a customer service representative. She retired after twenty five years with Sears as the dispatcher for the center.
Linda loved time spent with her family and friends on outings and traveling. She was a remarkably talented seamstress and home maker, enjoying holidays with her large extended family. Friendly, with a gentle sense of humor, she always enjoyed a good laugh. She will be greatly missed by many.
Linda is survived by her three children, Michael T. Tremblay of Goshen, NH, Scott A. Tremblay of Newburyport and Laureen M. Ryan and husband Kevin of Peabody as well as five grandchildren, Tasha Dalessandro and husband Jason, Shannon McCahill and husband Conor, Jason Ryan and wife Nicole, Derek Tremblay and wife Tessa and Jonathan Tremblay and wife Alex. She also leaves fifteen great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Gavin, Jubilee, Andre, Josephine, Timothy ,Colette, Bode, Jonathan James, Jr., Brayden, Joseph, Mason, Hayes, Jackson and Maria and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Kenneth Higgins.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Avenue, Salem on Thursday, August 10, 2023, for a brief visitation at 10:30 AM to be followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM.
