Dagmar Elizabeth (Starks-Sture) Cunningham, 82, of Medway died August 5 at Milford Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. She was the wife of George B. Cunningham for the past 60 years.
Born in Leslau -Warthegau, Poland, April 21,1941, the daughter of the late Bonifacius and Laimdota (Bivins) Starks-Sture, Dagmar came to America at the age of 18. She first lived in Jamacia Plain and then onto West Roxbury where she lived until coming to Medway 42 years ago.
A homemaker for most of her life, she had previously been a hairdresser.
Dagmar enjoyed her annual trips to the Senior Girl Scout Camp and also trips to Germany to see her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son Stephen Cunningham and his wife Kerrie of Medway.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ryan, Justin, Stephany and Carley and her great-granddaughter Scarlett. She is also survived her nephew, Dieter.
Dagmar was the sister of the Vivian and Bernie and the late Dieter and Helga.
Her graveside service will be held on Monday, August 14 in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 1:30 p.m.
Due to restrictions at the cemetery, the family asks that donations be made in Dagmar’s memory to the MSPCA, 350 Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02130.
