Raymond A. Mitchell, of Phoenix, AZ, formerly of Massachusetts, died Thursday July 20, 2023. He was the beloved son of the late John and Helen Mitchell.
Ray was a graduate of Cohasset High School and furthered his education earning his Bachelor’s Degree and his Master’s Degree from Leslie College.
Ray then moved to Alaska where he taught school for two years before returning to Boston. While living in Boston, he turned his interest to the millinery field where he apprenticed for some years.
His thirst for education led him to his later move to Arizona where he began his studies in psychology earning his PhD from the University of Arizona. Ray utilized his education working for over twenty-five years as a therapist in the penal system for the State of Arizona.
He leaves behind his seven siblings, Mary Krisiukenas of Brockton, Ann Leonard of West Bridgewater, Jack Mitchell of Florida, Larry Mitchell Of South Carolina, Margie Newcomb of Yarmouth, Helen Dupius of North Carolina, and David Mitchell of Florida as well and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral Mass on Saturday August 19 at 10:00 AM in St. Mary’s Church, 392 Hanover Street, Hanover, MA 02339. Burial will follow in the Center Cemetery.
