Joanna DeAngelis, of Medford, passed away on Saturday, August 5th. She was 85. Born in Boston, she was the cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Philomena (Cogliano) DeAngelis. Joanna had a long prosperous career as an underwriter for the Commercial Union Insurance Company, where she established many lifelong friendships.
Joanna had a heart full of compassion and love for all types of animals. She made sure all the fur babies that came in contact with her were cared for and would never go without. When Joanna was not spending time with animals, she enjoyed visiting the casinos, relaxing on the beach and picking out the next Chinese restaurant to visit.
Joanna was the dear sister of the late Lydia E. Florino. She was the caring friend of Barbara Malyerck, and the proud fur mom of Lilly and Jasper. Joanna is also survived by many loving family members and friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with Joanna’s family in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Monday, August 14th from 10 to 11 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 11:30 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
