SANFORD - Scott Douglas Gammon, age 52, passed away from complications due to cancer, on August 2, 2023, in Biddeford, Maine.
Scott was born in Sanford, Maine on December 23, 1970, a son of Austin L. Gammon and Marjorie (Martell) Carter. He attended Baxter School for the Deaf, in Falmouth prior to transferring to the Governor Wentworth Regional School District in 1984, in Wolfeboro, NH. He graduated from Kingswood High School in 1991.
Scott worked for many years in the house construction field with his brother Terry and the manufacturing of wood products in Limerick. He was a longtime member of the Wolves Club in Sanford. He enjoyed building car model kits, car shows, collecting beer steins and loved all things Budweiser. He spent many hours teaching friends and family sign language. He also loved helping out around the yard and visiting with friends and family around the firepit.
Scott is survived by his mother Marjorie and his stepfather Ernest Carter of Center Tuftonboro, NH., his siblings: Jean Simpson and husband Mark of Center Ossipee, NH,Terry Gammon and wife Robin of Limerick, Patty Nolette and husband David of Sanford, Jen Pitts and husband Matthew of Limerick, and Tammy Sinapius and her boyfriend Craig of Freedom, NH, his nieces Eva Simpson, Maisie Pitts, and Brittany Sinapius, nephews Benjamin Gammon and Stephen Sinapius. He is also survived by his long time girlfriend, Judie Rose and her family of Wallkill, NY and their beloved dog, Max.
He was predeceased by his father, Austin Gammon, his niece, Brandy Gammon and his nephew DJ Sinapius.
A graveside service will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery on Moody Road in Limington at 2:00 pm Saturday, September 23, 2023. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at his brother Terry’s home at 28 Harbor View Road, Limerick 04048.
