CHICOPEE - Claire F. Mitchell, 91, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Friday, August 4, 2023. She passed into Eternal Life at the Jewish Geriatric Services Lifecare in Longmeadow surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born at home on Pine Street in Chicopee on June 7, 1932, a beloved daughter of the late William H. and Wilfreda I. (Gauthier) Mitchell. She was raised and educated in Chicopee and had lived in Chicopee her entire life. She was a loving caretaker for her family and loved spending time with her family and her many friends. She leaves her two dear nephews, Kenneth Mitchell of Northampton and William Mitchell and his wife, Meredith, of Medfield; her dear niece, Christine M. Roy of Agawam; her many dear grand nephews and grand nieces; and her many dear extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her dear brother, Richard Mitchell and his wife, Cecile; and her dear sister, Doris Bollenbach and her husband, Robert. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 594 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. There are no visiting hours. Her funeral arrangements are entrusted to the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
