Our mother, Lorraine R (Walsh) Brennick has gone to be with the angels. She departed from this earth on August 1, 2023.
Lorraine was born to Frank and Edna (Curley) Walsh on November 7, 1934. the youngest of three children.
She married Henry B (Bernie) Brennick in 1953, they had 6 children over the next 11 years. In 1966 they moved from Cambridge MA to Franklin to raise their children away from the city. Lorraine was the mother (like so many of her time) that stayed home and raised the children. During these years she held many titles, daughter, sister, dedicated wife and mother, aunt and a friend. With her children she wasn't just a mother, she was a teacher, a nurse, taxi driver, and sometimes a referee. (Remember there were 6 of us - LOL)
She taught us morales, manners, how to be humble and kind (and hoped that they would stick). To help others less fortunate, so many things that parents strive to teach their children so they will grow up to be caring, loving, kind adults. Our mom was the epitome of this person, who we should all strive to be.
She eventually started to work outside of the home. She enjoyed being able to earn her own money and contribute to the household funds. To purchase items for others, to spoil the grandchildren when they started to arrive, and arrive they did.
Soon she had the title of mother-in-law, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved every minute of it. Loved having our families gather at her house, or at another family member's house. Time together was important to her and our dad. We would talk, laugh, pick on each other, have cookouts and just have some great times. We have many stories to share with the younger generations.
She accepted all of these titles like the ICON she was. She was there for all of us whenever we needed her. Sometimes we may not have wanted to hear what she had to say, but she said it anyway.
She lost her husband (our father) after 40 years of marriage, this was hard for her but she was brave, she carried on and showed us all that life continues after you lose the ones you love. Nothing should be taken for granted. She would say that "things happen for a reason, and we may never know the reason".
To describe our mother, these are the words we use; Kind Hearted, loving, funny, brave, giving, loyal, devoted, compassionate, selfless, humble, sweet and forgiving, Those in the know, have heard about "Ruthie", she too will be missed.
We know she was the Best of the Best and we are all lucky to be a part of her story.
Lorraine is survived by, her brother, Fred Walsh of Framingham MA, sister-in-law, Ann O'Riodon of Peabody MA, and her children, Thomas (Mary Ann) Brennick of Uxbridge MA, Mary Bagdasarian of Franklin MA, Jean (Louis) DiSanza of Dunedin FL, James (Deborah) Brennick of Bellingham MA, Paul (Pam) Brennick of Bellingham MA, Robert Brennick of Franklin MA, 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and friends, and all of those who referred to her as "Ma".
She has touched many lives and will be remembered, we are her legacy!
One more thing, in one of our last conversations mom made me promise to tell you something after she passed.
Her words: " I had a happy life, and I love you all very much"
