We are sad to announce the passing of Violetta Tsina of Mission Hill, Massachusetts. She died at age 89 on July 29, 2023. Violetta passed away in her sleep after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Violetta Perivolarakis came to America through Canada and married her late husband Christie Tsina in the 1960s.
She was a skilled seamstress and worked for Medford Square Sporting Goods, stitching names and numbers on hats and uniforms. She loved this job and took great pride in this work mainly because of her love of hockey and baseball. She eventually took a job closer to home with The Children's Hospital as a Lab Technician sterilizing their glassware, Violetta transferred across the street to the Howard Hughes diagnostic labs and finally retired in her 80's.
She loved to watch her daughter Yvonne figure skate and she never missed her son William's hockey or baseball games.
She is survived by her son William and his wife Tracey Tsina and grandchildren Nicole and Christopher Tsina, her daughter Yvonne and grandchildren Anthony Tsina, Lexi Petrillo and also 2 great-grandchildren Anthony and Athena. Violetta will also be dearly missed by her sister Matina and her husband James Malatos also her brother Nicholas and his wife Tina Perivolarakis along with many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visiting hours at the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St. West Roxbury on Thursday, August 3rd from 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Violetta may be made to Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org.
