Obituary

Betty-Jean Alger passed away, after a lengthy battle with cancer, on July 27th at her home in East Bridgewater surrounded by her family. She was born October 14th 1954, in Brockton, MA. Betty-Jean is survived by her husband Rodney Alger of East Bridgewater, Mom Jean Porter of East Bridgewater, sister Nancy Stewart of East Bridgewater, brother John Porter and Grace Falzarano of Columbia Falls Maine, two daughters Michelle Rodrigues and her husband Carlos of Stoughton, Joanne Lopez and her husband Ramon of Brockton, grandchildren Caleb Rodrigues of Vista CA, Jacob Rodrigues and wife Courtney of Stoughton, Olivia and Elena Lopez of Brockton as well as nephews Daniel Bezanson, Andrew Bezanson and wife Brianne LaRue, Benjamin and Nathan Stewart.

Betty-Jean lived her life her way and fought cancer the same way right to the end. She often defied the rules but had the kindest, most generous heart. Her home was always open and there was always space at the table for anyone who was passing through. She loved rock music, going out and traveling. Her husband and her traveled cross country not once but twice on the motorcycle. Many years were spent behind the counter at Monty’s cycle shop as well and we can’t forget about all the years at King’s Castle Land. She passed that vigor for life on to both of her girls and their children. Her legacy will be carried into the next generations including her great grandson who will be born in September. We will miss her but know she is at peace, whole and no longer in pain.

Memorial service and reception to be held Friday August 11th at 4pm, Grace Church 101 Wales ave Avon MA. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to the Jimmy Fund/Dana Farber
https://www.jimmyfund.org or Brockton Visiting Nurses https://www.brocktonvna.org, both
