Ellamae (Carmichael) Leonard, age 87, passed away on July 27, 2023 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born on Oct. 19, 1935 in Philadelphia, PA, daughter of the late Thomas and Anna (Garrison) Carmichael. Ellamae was a communicant of the former Assumption Parish. She worked for over 30 years as a supervisor at Farm Credit Bank. She was a member of the Red hat Society and the Cape Cod Chorus. She enjoyed reading, playing dominoes, word search puzzles and also collected Amberina glass. She is survived by her beloved husband Kenneth Leonard of Belchertown; one son, Edward Leonard and his wife Valorie of South Hadley; one daughter, Linda Benoit and her significant other Paul Rondeau of Chicopee; two brothers, Paul Carmichael of PA and Russell Carmichael of PA; seven grandchildren, Michael, Kevin, Adam, Daniel, Alexander, Meagan and Abbeyrose; six great grandchildren; her beloved in-laws, Tony and Patricia Russo, Tom and Fran Leonard, Claire Carriveau and Barbara Warren along with many nieces, nephews and extended family members who will miss her dearly. She is predeceased by her brother Edward Carmichael and sister Grace Blessing and granddaughter Kaitlyn Leonard. Calling hours will be the morning of the funeral, Thursday, August 3, 2023 from 9:00 - 11:00 AM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee followed by an in house prayer service at 11:00 AM.
