Herman J. Cox, 81, of Tifton, Georgia, died Thursday, July 27, 2023, at the Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia in Tifton.
Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Sunday, July 30, 2023 at Pinetta Cemetery in Irwin County, Georgia, with the Rev. Steve Hand officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.
Mr. Cox was born March 4, 1942, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Jimmy Jackson and Clara Taylor Cox. He was a Janitor at the Irwin County School system for over thirty years, and he loved to crochet.
He is survived by his siblings: Vernell Roberts of Suffolk, Virginia, Dora Mae Coburn of Tifton, Clara Mae Pate of Tifton, Henry Cox of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Cecil Cox of Fitzgerald; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Nonie Frances Dickens Cox, siblings: Louise Tucker, Jake Cox, Jesse Cox, and Cora Lee Bracewell.
